Timber Ridge Lodge is located deep inside the Big Thicket on Private Property.
Perfect for Nature Lovers and Families desiring NOT to spend the weekend in a motel.
Quiet, peaceful and comfortable, Timber Ridge is a retreat from the everyday world and many of our guests return here each year for a sabbatical, family retreats, and romantic get-a-ways.

2 BR, 1 BA w/ full modern kitchen and utensils, all linens and staples are provided; all you need are your groceries. Walking trails, a fishing pond and a wood burning parlor stove are features that will surely invite rest and relaxation.
Located centrally to most all National Park Units, and only 20 minutes from Village Creek, you can use Timber Ridge as a base while you take time to explore the Big Thicket. 1st night Deposit is required at reservation time, Major Credit Cards, PC, TC, or Cash at check-in. Canoe - Camping Trips

Popular mostly with more experienced paddlers or people with their own equipment looking to "get away from it all".
EASTEX Canoes offers Service & Equipment for several Excellent Outdoor Adventures on Village Creek and in the Big Thicket NP. You can bring your tent and a few essentials and enjoy camping primitively under the stars.
If you wish, you can spend 3 or 4 Days on one of our "Wilderness River Trips" through the National Park on the Scenic Neches River below Dam B.

Tips:
- Cook and Freeze some recipes BEFORE you leave home. Bring a pan to reheat them in and serve up a hot meal in minutes! Pre Wrap Potatoes in Heavy Foil for baking in the Fire. Bring Dried Fruit and Nuts for snacks instead of candy and chips.
- Plan a skit or bring campfire songs for the evening fire.
- Have a daytime competition (i.e., for collecting usable firewood) and then have an award ceremony at the evenings end.
- Include a Sunday Worship Service or a Daily Prayer before Breakfast.
